THIS MORNING.
The dead body of an old age pensioner, named Mrs. Kolass, was found in the back room of her residence, which is behind Messrs. Moran and Co.'s b utcher shop, opposite the Massey Harris Ltd.
It appears that an employee of the butcher shop, named Ted Keilly, was in the yard washing his horses when he became aware of a very disagreeable odour. He mentioned the matter to his employer, but both came to the conclusion that it must have been the water.
At about 11.45 a.m. Keilly walked info the back roo m and there found, stretched out upon the floor, the dead body of the woman, in an advanced state of decomposition. The Police were advised and the body removed to the morgue, where a post mortem was held.
The deceased was last seen alive on Saturday last. Her husband, it is supposed, poisoned himself some time back. She was lying fully clothed on the floor of the bedroom. Her head and shoulders were under the bed.
