Mabel's birth was illegitimate as her parents never married.
Her father, Walter, lived in Mary Street in Brisbane at the time and was recorded as a fruiterer and 19 years of age on the birth certificate while her mother lived in Arthur Street Newstead and was 18 years old.
Her mother Elizabeth registered the birth in writing on the 27th of October and four days later her father also registered the birth in writing.
According to the death certificate the minister was Henry H. Barlow from the Salvation Army
